Choosing on unit price alone

A quotation is only comparable when the specification behind it is fixed: fabric and weight, branding method, approval steps. A price that is lower because it assumes a lighter fabric or skips the sample stage is not a saving — it is a different product. Ask every supplier what their number includes; a quote that cannot answer is unfinished.

Approving bulk without a sealed sample

Photos and showroom pieces feel like approval; they are not. Sampling typically takes 7–15 days once fabric, logo and fit details are agreed — the cheapest insurance in the order. We make a pre-production sample in the agreed fabric and colour with your logo applied, revise it, and seal it once approved, wash-tested first where the fabric is new. Bulk then runs 25–30 days after approval, and final inspection is an AQL-style check against that sealed sample, detailed on our quality control page. Size breakdowns and colour assumptions

Two assumptions quietly wreck first orders. The first is sizes: sizes mix freely within the 100-piece MOQ, but only if the factory knows the split. Without a breakdown, the cut plan is built on an assumed ratio, and the surplus always lands in the sizes nobody wears. Send headcount per size at inquiry stage — rough is fine.

The second is colour. The same Pantone reference looks slightly different on a cotton twill, a polyester piqué and a softshell because each fibre takes dye differently. For a multi-garment programme, approve a lab dip for each fabric together so the set reads as one colour family; approved dips stay on file, which is what makes re-orders match.

Planning only the first order

A uniform programme outlives its first delivery: people join, leave and change size. The buyer who planned only the launch order finds out when the first new starter needs a shirt. Top-ups are made against the sealed sample and approved lab dips, so new garments match the original run; minimums are quoted per project, and reserving fabric from the first run makes small repeats easier. Mention expected staff turnover with the initial order — it changes what gets reserved.

Verifying the company behind the brand

A brand is not a legal entity; a polished website is not a factory.
