Maintenance uniforms have the hardest brief in the hotel: engineering staff walk guest corridors carrying tools, so the garment has to be genuine workwear that still looks like the hotel employs them on purpose. Tough cloth, honest pockets and the property's colours — without pretending a boiler room and a lobby need the same garment.
Engineering and maintenance teams are the most visible back-of-house staff in a hotel: they change lamps in the lobby, fix air conditioning in occupied corridors and carry tools past guests all day. Their uniforms have to survive a plant room and still reassure a guest that this person belongs here — which is a workwear spec and a brand spec at the same time.
Workwear first, hotel second — in that order
The cloth is polycotton twill or cotton drill, chosen for abrasion and wash survival, with bar-tacked stress points and knees reinforced where the role kneels. Pocket layouts come from what the trade actually carries — meters, drivers, radios — because generic pockets tear within a month under real tools. Colour and logo then pull the set into the property’s palette.
Identifiable without the contractor look
An engineer dipped to the hotel’s working palette, wearing the same logo standard as the front desk, reads as staff. That matters for guest confidence — a stranger with a ladder in a corridor should be clearly employed by the building. Department trim or a smarter vest covers the engineers whose work takes them into guest-facing areas most. Name badges follow the same policy as the rest of the property: most engineering teams run embroidered names or a reinforced badge area, fixed on the sealed sample so the chest of a work shirt carries them without sagging.
An honest line on protective clothing
We do not manufacture certified PPE — hi-vis, flame-resistant or other rated protective garments are outside this programme, and where a role legally requires them they should come from a specialist supplier. Our sets cover the uniformed daily work around those items, and we would rather say that plainly than have a buyer discover it late.

Can maintenance uniforms still match the hotel's colours?
Yes. The workwear cloths are lab-dipped to the property's working palette — usually a deeper, practical shade of the brand colours — and carry the same logo standard as the front of house. The garments differ; the identity does not.
What is the difference between these and general workwear?
Fit discipline and identification. The sets are graded on proper size charts like the rest of the programme, the colours are dipped to the hotel standard, and the embroidery matches the property's other departments — so an engineer in the corridor reads as a colleague, not a contractor.
Can different trades have different pocket layouts?
Yes, within reason. One trouser block can carry two or three pocket configurations per trade, agreed at sampling. Keeping the base garment shared holds the minimums and the colour standard while the details follow the work.
What about hi-vis for loading bays and plant areas?
Certified hi-vis and protective garments are outside what we manufacture, and we will say so plainly. The maintenance set covers daily uniformed work; certified items should be sourced from a PPE specialist alongside it.
